We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my Parents. My brothers were also both in town too. It was a large bird, a large feast, full of great goodies and treats for everyone. By the time dinner hit the table we had stocked up and snacked on so many goodies and platters, that it was difficult to eat another meal...but leave it to a Knight to always find room in their tummies!
The day after Thanksgiving we went and got our tree, spent the morning decorating, wrapping a few gifts, and listening to Christmas music to set the mood. Owen loved it--and Mommy loved that Owen loved it! His first Christmas he was crawling, but not really into the Christmas tree, this year, he's asking "what's that" to all the ornaments...also keeps asking for "candy" with all the candy canes on the tree too!
Owen is talking alot! About any and everything. He repeats A LOT of what we say...I am so excited to spend Christmas morning opening gifts with our little man, I think this year he's going to totally understand the concept of opening a gift...watch out presents!!
Baby girl is doing great! We had a second ultra sound done to check her heart, totally normal routine ultra sound, they just have us do this extra one because of Eric's heart condition; better to be safe and know what's going on before the BIG DAY. During this ultra sound, we realized how "active" she is...this ultra sound should take no more than 1 hour to perform, but this one would not be still at all. After two hours of chasing her around the womb, the tech finally said "okay, we'll see if this is enough for the doctor to review before we put you through much more". I felt bad for the tech, it was a long appointment!
Owen is sleeping in his big boy bed now. He made that transition so quickly and easily; one night sleeping in his crib, the next in the toddler bed in his big boy room. Not a peep, still sleeps through the night, hasn't fallen out yet! I say bed time, and he runs to his bed, he's actually excited about it?!?! I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this changes, but I'm a total proud mommy at how well he did. Moving him out of the crib allowed for me to start putting the crib together with the new bedding for Baby girl, etc, etc...
Things are moving fast, I hit the 25 week mark this week; and I don't know where the time went? After talking with my doctor we decided the best course of action for me, was to do the c-section thing again. Which is fine, I told him my only concern was I didn't want to "pick" the birthday...so I asked if I could wait until I started early labor, give him a call, and meet him at the hospital to "pull" the kid out...he said that they get that request more often than I would know! So that's the plan, let the baby pick her birthday, but not go through the 26+ hours of trying to get her out. So maybe mommy won't be falling asleep on the operating table this time!
I'm looking forward to meeting the princess! My mom is always telling me the biggest transition is from 1 to 2, after that it's all the same. I'm hopeful Eric and I have as much success with the new one as we have thus far with Owen. Fingers crossed!!
